On the weekend I had come across an article about and a lesson a teacher had done that had gone viral. In this lesson the teacher gave her students the sentence starter, “ I wish my teacher knew . . .” . This morning I decided to give this lesson a try. In our journals we were to write about something that you wanted Mrs. Weir to know about you. Ask your child about what they wrote about and why. Post your answers to the blog.
We had an in class visitor this morning from the Humane Society. She talked to us a little about the Humane society and a lot about dog safety. This is timely information as most children are now enjoying more time outside. Ask your child to explain to you the safest way to approach an unknown dog. Also ask what you should do if a dog you don’t know comes up to you.
Remember to send home reading in on a daily basis!
