I hope that you all had a great Family Day break and were able to enjoy some time together. It sounds like many of you were able to get away and enjoy some skiing. I can honestly say that I enjoyed my time at Teacher's Convention and was able to listen and gain inspiration from Hayley Wickenheiser (Canadian Womens Hockey), Alexandre and Frederick Bilodeau (mens mogul skiing) Chantal Kreviazuk (Canadian singer) and Taylor Mali (slam poet).
Happy 6th birthday Elise! Thank you for yummy sugar cookie treats. February is a busy birthday month for us. We will celebrate two more birthdays before the end of the month.
This morning we once again worked with Mr. Stan the graphic artist. We used shapes to help us draw endangered animals. We drew one close up and one with the animal in its natural habitat. Blog question: Ask your child what animal they focused on and post your answer to the blog.
In music today we learned about singing acapella. We were excited to learn that this meant singing without music.
We also had a presentation from Sara Guilbault (Speech and Language Pathologist) about "thoughts and feelings". Ask your child to explain why these are important.
**If you have any pictures of endangered animals (calendar size is great) that you would be willing to lend us, send them in with your name clearly marked at your earliest convenience.**
We will be celebrating the 100th day of school on Monday February 23rd. Look for details in tomorrows blog.
Have a great night!
