Our new security system for the front door is now in place and ready to use. We will begin using the system tomorrow morning. Please be patient with us as we work through the kinks in system. To begin we anticipate locking the front door at all times except during entry at 8:20 – 8:45.
To use please push the intercom button and wait for the office to answer. If no one answers within a reasonable amount of time then there is no one in the office. Please press the red door bell, located up high next to the door. This will typically be the case after 4:00 pm or before 7:30 am.

We had a great day in kindergarten today! Everyone was very focused and actively engaged in all that we did. Callum and Gavin ran their own centre today. They have figured out how to build numbers and letters out of Lego and were offering mini lessons to anyone that was interested.
This morning we were practicing the beginning sounds of words. We used whiteboards and markers, but if you want to practice at home you could use paper and pencil. Mrs. Weir would say a word (ie. sun, lion, turtle etc.) and we had to write down the sound that we heard at the beginning of the word. We were all amazed at how much we have learned already. To make it trickier Mrs. Weir then asked what sound we heard at the beginning and end of the word. THis was tough for some of us, so that means that we should practice at home!
Next we used two-sided counters to figure out the different combinations of ways that you can make 5. (1 red/ 4 white = 5 ) We had to concentrate hard on forming our numbers correctly and remember to start at the top. You can help me by giving me objects to count at home and then having me write the number! You can even have me estimate before I count.
Tomorrow is our Byblos Bakery presentation! We are all good with donations of toppings.
**Conference bookings are now being taken on line. Remember to book under Mrs. Weir and not Ms. Overacker.**
Hope to see many of you tonight at the skating party.
