Happy Tuesday!!
We had a great day in kindergarten finishing up our self-portraits that we started yesterday. Some of us took the time to look back on portraits we had done on the very first day of school. The difference between the two drawings is amazing. Ask your child to describe some of the ways they notice that their drawing abilities have matured.
Since my return from leave I have noticed that spring fever has hit our classroom. In the last couple days I have noticed kids needing more reminders about treating each other kindly and following through with classroom expectations. We started a new program today called “Popsicle Stick Friends”. We began with each of us decorating popsicle sticks and writing our name on it. We then put our sticks into a basket so that Mrs. Weir could pull them out in 2s and pair people together. The rules around the sticks are that you must play with only your stick partner for the time allotted and you may not join up with any others pairs. We will do this until we have all had a chance to play with each person at least once. Ask your child who their partner was today. Post to the blog something your child enjoyed about playing with their “popsicle stick” friend.
